A Leak

The following things may indicate a leak: Finding a leak can be extremely time consuming, especially when the system is enclosed in a small space and the helium eventually gets into the system regardless of where it was sprayed. It is a good idea to hunt for a leak in sections.

Typical locations for a leak are:

Usually, a leak can be fixed by tightening a KF flange clamp, tightening flange bolts, or cleaning/replacing an O-ring. In the case of the large OVC O-ring, its best to take it out, inspect it for cracks/drying/damage, and clean it with ethanol.

More specialized leaks may require more technical fixes.
