Full Cool Down

A full cool down can be achieved using the fully automated functionality of the fridge control program. However, care should be taken that the system is monitored during the beginning of mixture condensation. To run the full cool down:

  1. [sec:prepare]Prepare the system, (see §sec:prepare).
  2. Ensure that V102 & V13 are closed.
  3. Ensure that V11, V12 & V14 are open.
  4. Ensure that the cold trap is connected and the cold trap dewar is full.
  5. On the fridge control program, select Refrigerator.
  6. Select Full Cool Down.
  7. A pop up will state,

This will start a full cool down.

  8. Press Yes.

It will take roughly 20 hours to reach base temperature. If possible, close the OVC valve during the Emptying the Pre-Cool Circuit phase of the cool down. Then you can [sec:cooldown.condense.pumpcart]disconnect the pump cart, (see sec:cooldown.condense.pumpcart).
